The Importance of a Cat’s Whiskers

The Importance of a Cat’s Whiskers

Did you know you should never, ever trim a cat’s whiskers? Whiskers are not just located on a cat’s nose; they are also above the eyes, on the chin, and on the back of a cat’s front legs. They serve as an essential sensory tool for cats since they are rich in nerve endings and are connected to the muscular and nervous systems. Whiskers are highly sensitive and can detect slight changes in an air current, which helps them to move around in the dark without bumping into things. Cats use their whiskers to help them determine if they can fit into a small or narrow space.
