Did you know there are more than 300 types of honey in the United States?

Did you know there are more than 300 types of honey in the United States?

Have you noticed that batches of honey can taste different? The color, aroma, and flavor depend on the type of flower the bees forage, as well as the climate, season, and breed of honeybee. A bee typically lives about five to seven weeks and visits about 1,000 flowers. To produce one pound of honey, a hive of bees must visit around two million flowers, equivalent to flying 55,000 miles. A third of the world’s food production depends on bees since they pollinate plants, which allows them to reproduce and produce seeds and fruit.
